Christian Engel
I have been fascinated by the web platform for almost 20 years. During that time, I have built web products at agencies, as a freelancer, in start-ups and large companies, as well as creating products of my own. Today I develop and take responsibility for complex distributed systems serving millions of users. I work in the control tower just as comfortably as I do in the engine room.
What I do
Technical leadership across applications and team boundaries.
When the technical work gets difficult, I join teams in the actual application and implement key parts myself. The framework or environment a product runs in is secondary: I get to know the system and solve the problem where it originates.
at DVAGResponsible for the governance and engineering of the frontend platform used by 10,000 financial advisors and their millions of customers. More than ten teams and over fifty developers contribute to it.

Independent projects
I am usually tinkering with two or three things at once.
My path through technology was never defined by a curriculum. I am driven to explore very different subjects, try new things and turn complex data into something people can access and understand.
